Sound Doctrine
For the
time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their
own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And
they shall turn away their ears from the truth and shall be turned away
unto fables. 2
Tim 4:3-4
"When for
the Time Ye Ought to be Teachers"
It is alarming
that in the year 2007, when we as a society claim to have such great
knowledge, that we remain ignorant of the Word of God. Despite the
warnings of prophets through the ages, we have become an ungodly
generation that lacks even the basic knowledge of sound doctrines as
taught in the Word of God.
We argue over
the most elementary teachings in the Word of God. The doctrines of
baptisms, laying on of hands, repentance from dead works, and many others
are clearly spelled out in the Word of God and are easily understood IF
ONE WANTS TO UNDERSTAND. Many today are willingly ignorant either
through lack of study and discipline to the Word or through the
deceitfulness of false teachers.
Teaching
abounds, but it is rare to hear teachers allow the Word of God to explain
itself. We are told that we must have cemetery ...oops... I mean seminary
training just to be able to understand the Word of God even on a basic
level. That is the same lie that was propagated during the dark ages by
the Catholic Church when only certain members were allowed to possess and
read the Word of God. In light of this belief today, it is no wonder
so many people have laid the Bible aside and instead are gathering their
"biblical knowledge" through TV shows and Radio programs that are meant
more for entertainment than they are for Godly Christian living.
MOST Christians
today CANNOT explain even basic doctrine using the Word of God. When a
conversation arises concerning the most basic fundamental belief, one can
quickly find that there are divisions of doctrine within even the local
community church .
These things
SHOULD NOT BE. When it comes to basic doctrine, the facts should remain as
they were taught from the beginning. It is not the BIBLE that has changed
NOR have we "come into new revelation" in the past few decades. We have,
however, twisted and perverted the righteousness of God and made his Word
an unholy thing. We have altered the Word to the point that even the
vilest of the vile will apparently get to heaven, regardless of lifestyle.
It is our firm
belief that Christians everywhere should know the
3 W's of their belief.
EVERYONE has a responsibility and a duty to know
1. WHAT YOU BELIEVE
2. WHY YOU BELIEVE IT
3. WHERE IT IS FOUND in the Bible
Rest assured
that EVERY SINGLE FUNDAMENTAL DOCTRINE is covered in the Word of God and
there is NO NEED to have any man explain it. The Word of God clearly
explains itself and leaves no doubt. READ THE WORD as it was meant to be
read: line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little and there
a little. (Isaiah 28:9-13)
You should
always understand that the Word of God is NOT a 'book by book' lesson, nor
is it a novel to be read as a storyline with a plot. The Bible is a GUIDE
for living your life. It is to be read and STUDIED. (2 Tim 2:15).
If you have a
ONE SCRIPTURE theology...STOP IT. The Word of God was NEVER based upon
just one scripture. It IS, however, to be studied and understood
exactly as stated in
Isaiah 28:9-13; PRECEPT UPON PRECEPT, LINE UPON LINE,
HERE A LITTLE AND THERE A LITTLE...
The Word of God
BUILDS upon itself just as you would build a house. You can't start
with the roof (well, I suppose you can if you wish, but....). You
MUST have a foundation, and a solid one, in order to add upon that
foundation.
ALL Scripture
is taken from the KJV.
